Arabian Travel Market to gather global AI experts to explore new frontiers in travel

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 16 April 2025: The transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be under the spotlight at Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which takes place from 28 April to 1 May at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The international travel event will gather experts and thought leaders in AI from around the world to explore how AI is changing the landscape of leisure and business travel, streamlining operations and improving the customer journey.

 

According to recent research by Statista, AI and machine learning have accounted for approximately two-thirds of global technology investment deals by travel and mobility companies since 2020. Across the travel industry, AI is being embraced at every level, from customers using AI-powered tools to plan their journeys to tourism providers leveraging AI to improve resource management and deliver more personalised guest services.

Nissan Formula E Team secures pole position and double points finish in Miami

Miami, Florida – 12th April 2025: Petromin Corporation, through its e-mobility subsidiary Electromin, proudly celebrates its ongoing partnership with Nissan Formula E Team following a thrilling Round 5 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Miami. The weekend marked a significant milestone for the team, as driver Norman Nato secured Nissan’s first pole position of the season and crossed the finish line first, an impressive feat, despite a post-race penalty that affected the final standings.

This collaboration showcases Petromin’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility and pioneering electric vehicle innovation on a global stage. Nissan Formula E Team put up a determined fight, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in one of the most competitive races of the season. Despite missing a podium finish, Norman Nato, Oliver Rowland and the team delivered a commendable performance, gaining crucial points and valuable insights for the championship ahead.

In qualifying, Norman Nato progressed through the duels and delivered an impressive performance in the final, securing his first-ever Julius Baer Pole Position trophy with a standout lap. Meanwhile, teammate Oliver Rowland narrowly missed out on a top four spot in a highly competitive Group A session, placing him 16th on the starting grid.

As the race got underway in the Sunshine State, Nato maintained his lead off the line and consistently fought within the top five. Rowland, meanwhile, focused on energy management while steadily making his way through the pack. A red flag on Lap 22 saw Nato in P6 and Rowland in P11, both with six minutes of Attack Mode remaining. At the restart, they immediately deployed the extra 50kW, with Nato crossing the line first and Rowland in fourth.

However, due to the timing of the red flag, neither driver completed their Attack Mode, resulting in post-race 10-second penalties. Nato was classified sixth, Rowland tenth — still securing a valuable double points finish for the team.

“We were so close to turning around a bad qualifying during the race as we crossed the line in fourth,” said Rowland. “We got unlucky — sometimes these things happen in motor racing. It’s now about getting ready for a busy upcoming period and aiming to set the weekend up with a better qualifying performance in Monaco.”

 

Norman Nato said, “It’s great to take my maiden Formula E pole position and a solid haul of points. It could’ve been even better without the penalty, but finishing P6 despite it shows we were strong. I felt comfortable in the car and was pleased to record the quickest time in qualifying. The ten-second penalty after the race feels like it’s summed up my season, just being on the wrong side of key moments. Taking pole and sixth is still a solid result to build on in Monaco.”

 

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E Team, commented, “It was a weekend filled with ups and downs, especially with Norman taking the win on track but classifying in P6 due to the penalty. We leave Miami cautious but confident, and more determined than ever to keep fighting for all three championships until the end.”

Among the standout pieces is Confetti 1 and Confetti 2, which capture the spirit of celebration. Inspired by the vibrant Holi festival of India, Hutten imagined colorful confetti scattered across a traditional rug — turning the pieces into joyful works of art. The rugs blend traditional floral and vine motifs with bursts of color, symbolizing optimism and happiness.


Squares offers a stunning juxtaposition of age-old craftsmanship and modern geometry. Traditional patterns form the foundation, while colorful square motifs interrupt the surface in a contemporary, eye-catching manner. The result is a dynamic fusion of heritage and modernity.

In Color Blocks and Blue Box, Hutten plays with architectural elements. The former features simple, 3D-inspired blocks set against a classic backdrop, creating an architonic contrast, while the latter draws inspiration from Dutch Delft Blue pottery. Crafted entirely in blue hues, Blue Box creates a serene yet bold dialogue between Dutch and Indian cultural aesthetics.

Perspective explores visual illusion, with a subtle color palette and a design that draws the viewer’s eye to the center of the rug, no matter the angle. This piece reinterprets how space and form interact, bringing depth and dimension to any interior.

With Connect 1 and Connect 2, Hutten ventures into the realm of AI-assisted creativity. Using artificial intelligence to select and combine elements from two traditional rugs, the designer stitches the pieces together with an exaggerated needle motif — symbolizing unity and contrast. These unique creations also double as art pieces, ideal for both floor and wall display.

Finally, Bananas injects humor and whimsy into the collection. Inspired by the slapstick comedy of legends like Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy, the traditional rug design is overlaid with playful banana motifs — a bold and unexpected twist that stays true to Hutten’s philosophy of joyful design.

Each rug in the collection has been meticulously hand-knotted, with the number of knots ranging up to 1.29 million, and crafted over 124 to 152 days by skilled artisans from villages across Rajasthan.

This enhanced collaboration marks a significant step toward empowering local businesses to capitalize on the potential of big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), driving innovation and supporting the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals.

By combining Databricks' sophisticated data analytics and AI capabilities with the reliable scalability and security of Microsoft Azure, organizations in Saudi Arabia will be equipped to improve operations, create data-driven applications, and derive actionable insights. This development underscores both companies' commitment to supporting the Kingdom's digital transformation and fostering a data-driven culture across sectors. 

Aligned with Vision 2030, this collaboration aims to democratize access to analytics and AI applications, provide training and certification programs to equip Saudi professionals with expertise in AI and data engineering, and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global technology hub.
